We are often asked similar questions by our clients, this section outlines some of those questions and answers them here.
+
How much do you charge for delivery? All our albums are dispatched via Parcelforce Express. Each shipment is charged at £12.95 regardless of how many albums are in the order. This service is fully tracked so you can be sure your albums arrive on time and in tip top condition!
+
How thick are your album pages? All our pages have a white substrate board between the photographic prints and are roughly 1mm in thickness. Creating beautiful high quality rigid pages. All the PhotoStory range is bound and blocked in this way. Our preview books have slightly more flexible pages as we use a thinner substrate in those.
+
What is the difference between a side and a page? When we refer to a page this relates to a double page spread when the album is open. A side is a single page in the album, left or right side. Therefore a 25 page album contains 50 sides.
+
How subtle is the crease on a double page spread?Very! All our books are creased rather than split. This way the design can run across beautiful double page spreads. We print on Fuji Crystal Archive paper so if you’re worried about pink/blue lines, Fuji is the best paper to minimise this. That said, absolutely any kind of photographic paper that is creased can show some slight discolouration. If you are incredibly particular about the crease, we recommend not designing over the crease or only using lighter colours rather than darker mono images.
+
Are sample albums available at a reduced cost?Yes, absolutely! We understand any samples help you sell your services. Therefore Sample albums are available at 20% off the normal prices. We allow as many samples as required across the range so you can show multiple options to your potential clients. Please note all sample albums have SAMPLE ALBUM printed discreetly on the last inside page.
+
Do you out source any of your production? No, all our designing, printing & album production is carried out at our UK studio in the north-west of England. We only use our own experienced staff so we can guarantee the exceptional quality and workmanship of all our products.
+
How many images can I get in the album? The answer to this is, as many you like as we don’t impose any limits. However we have found over the years that overcrowded albums have less impact and can look too busy. As a guide we say that an average of five or six per spread works really well. This allows you to have some full spread pages using a single image (great for group shots), alongside some collage pages and everything in between.
+
What are the design options? You can go one of two ways with your album design. We have a super duper in house design team who will design your albums for you. Or you can set your creative juices flowing and design your own. If you wish to design your own albums get in touch and we will be happy to help out with template files and tips and tricks for creating your own works of art! We have partnered with Pixellu SmartAlbums 2. Fantastic software for designing and proofing your albums. Go to Pixellu.com to download a 30 free trail

Do you charge for amendments to in-house design work? No,we are happy to make amendments to a book layout free of charge. It is important to us that you and your customer are happy with the result. However if a design requires wholesale changes which differ from the original brief and/or multiple additional images not initially provided then we would charge a re-design fee of £50 regardless of the size of the book.
+
What is the production time of your albums? All design work is proofed within 10 working days from the day we receive your files. Approved designs and albums designed by yourself will be manufactured and shipped within 5 working days. In some cases outside of peak months (August~December) we can speed up the process should an urgent job come your way! You will receive regular updates via email throughout the production process.
+
Do the albums have a guarantee?Absolutely! We have spent many years perfecting and improving our binding techniques. Therefore we 100% guarantee our books for life. If ever there is an issue with workmanship, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
+
I made a mistake on one page, can it be replaced?Unfortunately not, each page is bound for life to the one next to it, therefore removing a single page would damage the adjacent pages and so on throughout the album.
+
Do the albums require any after-care?As with all photographic albums they do not like liquid spills. If this was to happen the pages are durable enough to be wiped dry immediately to avoid any damage. However if liquid is left on the surface of pages and the book is closed it is likely to cause damage to the printing. Although this is common sense to most it is worth stressing to your clients to keep them well clear of cups of coffee and children with sticky fingers!!
+
Are PhotoStory albums only available to professional photographers? Not exclusively no. Although 80% of our work is for the professional market we often produce one off projects for couples who have purchased copyright free packages from there photographers. So if this describes you, then get in touch and we can produce you a wedding album of the highest quality.
+
I am nearby, can I pick my album up rather than have it shipped?Of course, it is always nice to meet our customers in person.
If your question wasn’t here (and if you are reading this bit it probably wasn’t!!), then give us a call or send an email and we will be more than happy to help you.
